Social Engagement: High
What’s What: Stuck at home and looking for a fun indoor activity? Want to learn something new about wine? Amava Partner Priority Wine Pass is facilitating personalized sessions where Napa Valley winemakers walk you through a tasting and answer any questions you may have.
Amava Take: The wine is real! Priority Wine Pass is on the forefront of making virtual wine-tasting accessible to people nationwide. With closed restaurants, bars, and wineries and shelter in place orders increasing, California’s wine industry needs support. Priority Wine Pass, a leading wine tasting program, has partnered with winemakers to launch Priority Wine Pass Virtual Wine Tastings. The new offering allows customers to purchase individual and curated wine selections at special prices for delivery, and schedule online video-tastings with the winemakers themselves.
From the Front Lines:
How did this get set up?
This is the company’s latest move in response to the current threat of Covid-19 and their effort to encourage support of local Napa Valley wineries, as well as boost morale for its customers.
How does it work?
Select a wine shipment and pick your favorite wine tasting package. After your wine package is shipped to your door, you’ll schedule a time with your winemaker (and friends!) to have a private one on one tasting experience.
Which wineries are involved?
All of the participating wineries are small-production and local to the Napa Valley. Priority Wine Pass is also inviting other west-coast wineries to participate in the initiative. Current participating wineries include Bridgette/Courtesan (Napa Valley), Boeschen Vineyards (St. Helena), and Prime Solum (Napa Valley) with plans to add more in the coming days.
From the Trenches:
How flexible is the scheduling?
Pick a time and date that works for your group. Then the winemaker will send you details to hop on a video call. You can ask questions, talk about how the wine was made and where it was sourced from. Get ready to sip, chat, and learn!
Any ways Amava Members can save?
Yes! Let the winemaker know you are an Amava Member when you order and you will receive between 10% and 20% off your shipping.
Anything else I need to know?
There is no telling what will happen in these uncertain times and new restrictions could impact future shipments. Priority Wine pass highly suggests ordering as soon as possible so winemakers can ship your wine out quickly! Legal or shipping restrictions may apply depending on the state you live in.
Special Requirements: High-speed internet.
Setting it Up: Taste virtually!
