Your privacy is important to us. At Amava we have a few fundamental principles:
- You own your personal information.
- Only you should decide if you want to share your personal information.
- No one should be able to sell, trade or give away your personal information to anyone without your consent, unless required to comply with the law.
- We should always meet or exceed United States and European government guidelines with regard to the use and privacy of your information.
When you use the Amava website and applications, you will share information with Amava. You also may share information with others.
We ask you to provide only that information that is necessary to provide the services you request.
This information generally falls into four categories:
Account Information: Any information you provide Amava when you register for a Membership with Amava. If you register for a free Membership, this includes your name and email address, and your zip code. If you pay for Premium Services, your Account Information also includes the payment information you provide Amava.
My Amava Profile Information: the information you voluntarily provide when you fill out your My Amava profile in order to connect with other people and have a personalized Amava experience.
Communications Information: messages, posts, comments and other communications between you and Amava Members or participants on the Amava site (collectively “Amava Users”) or the Amava Team via the Amava website or Amava applications.
Amava Use Data: data about your interactions with the Amava website and applications.
Account Information: We use your Account Information to communicate with you if you become an Amava Member. (See Amava Terms of Service and Agreement). If you purchase any Premium Services, we also use it to charge you for any Membership fees and any paid services that you previously approved. (We do not store any credit/debit card information.)
We will not use your Account Information for any purpose other than to communicate with you or charge your credit card or other payment method, except as specifically directed by you.
We will not sell or otherwise provide your Account Information to a third party, except as necessary to process your payment or connect you with the provider of a service for which you registered.
We will store your electronic data using best practices for security and encryption. We understand that no solution is perfect, which is why we do not store credit/debit card numbers on our servers.
We encourage you not to share Account Information with others unless and until you have established a personal, trusted relationship.
Amava Profile Information: Your My Amava profile (also referred to as “Amava Profile”) is designed to be discoverable like most online profiles (e.g., LinkedIn), to better enable you to connect with others. Unlike other online profiles, your Amava Profile is based on your shared interests, affiliations and general location (i.e. zip code). Information contained in your profile may be seen by others and may be used by Amava to personalize your experience by providing more relevant information and recommendations. You may edit or delete information contained in your Amava Profile at any time on your My Amava page.
Public Communications: We may enable you to group chat, message, post your thoughts, provide comments and otherwise communicate publicly in order to have the deepest and broadest opportunity to engage with other Amava Users and/or the Amava Team. All public communications are accessible to all people using Amava. Amava may post or repost public communications on Amava web sites and in Amava applications and communications to Amava Users.
Please remember that any information you share in public areas, such as comment sections or forums, or that you otherwise post, display or disseminate in an area that is viewable by other visitors on the Amava site, becomes public. Please be careful about what you disclose and do not disclose personal information that you expect to keep private.
Private Communications: We may enable you to privately message other people using the Amava site or applications and to set up invitation-only “discussion rooms” in order to foster deeper engagement around subjects that you deem personal. All private communications are accessible only to those Amava Users with whom you communicate. We do not monitor your private communications.
Amava Use Data:
Our systems collect data about your interactions with the Amava website, Amava applications and communications with Amava and the Amava Team.
Amava Use Data will only be used to improve your Membership experience and to improve support for Amava Members.
Personally identifiable Amava Use Data will not be sold or provided to any third party.
The Amava website may include links to other websites, whose privacy practices may be different from ours. We encourage you to become familiar with their policies before providing any information or engaging with them beyond the specific links provided.
For Users outside the United States:
Amava’s servers and offices are located in the United States, so your information may be transferred to, stored, or processed in the United States. While the data protection, privacy, and other laws of the United States might not be as comprehensive as those in your country, we take many steps to protect your privacy as outlined in this policy. By using the Amava services or website, you understand and consent to the collection, storage, processing, and transfer of your information to our facilities in the United States.
