Getting to Know Your Guide

We asked our Guides some fun questions to help you get to know them a bit better.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Turning my life around from being an at-risk teen, high school dropout. It's all good now.

What is your favorite job?

Doing what I do now...coaching, group facilitating and public speaking.

What is your favorite journey?

Living on Journey Lane! Seriously, that is my street name. It couldn't be a better fit for my being, thoughts and life. Funny how things happen in life.

What is your greatest fear?

Physical harm and pain.

Which talent would you most like to have?

I would love to be able to would be fab to be a rock star on stage! The closest I came was 40 years ago, when I was a carny....25 cents to play, 25 cents to win, come on in!

Where would you like to live?

Right where I am, in The Villages, Florida. I have lived in many places. This is the first time in my life where I told myself and others, this is the place for me. No more searching. I am home. But never, say never! :)

What do you most value in your friends?

Their support, knowledge and laughter.

Who is your favorite hero of fiction?

I really don't have one.

Who are your heroes in real life?

My mother...a true survivor professionally and personally.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

Not feel overwhelmed with to-do's pressure and clerical tasks.

What is your motto?

"Imagine It, Believe It, Become It!" And,"It's never too late to get happy." And mostly, "Be kind."

What are you looking forward to?

For now, my life is mostly caregiving and working. When the sad time comes for my mother to pass, I look forward to enjoying this wonderful retirement community and revisiting Vail, Colorado where I lived for eight years long ago.

What have you always wanted to try?

Hard to answer because I was pretty much a free spirit and enjoyed life.

What do you do for fun? (or to relax)

I love being outdoors walking or biking. Socializing. Cooking and food with a little bit of wine!

What is your favorite dessert?

Right now, I am digging Yasso Coffee Chip Greek Yogurt Bars.

What is your most treasured possession?

My late, mentally-challenged brother's ashes. My brother, Jeff, was my greatest joy, and my greatest heartache.
